Among Revelstoke Hotels, Glacier House Hotel & Resort has one of the most scenic and quiet locations. Away from the hustle and bustle of the Trans Canada Highway, and the ever present railroad, Glacier House is located 7 kms (4 miles) north from the townsite on a large bench overlooking the Begbie Glacier and Mount Revelstoke National Park.

How to get here by Car 

Glacier house resort

  • From the West: On the Trans Canada Highway, turn left at the first traffic lights you encounter in Revelstoke. Follow the Westside road 7 kms to GHH&R.
  • From the East: Stay on the Trans Canada Highway to the west, bypassing the Revelstoke townsite indications. Straight at the second traffic lights, go across the Columbia River Bridge and turn right at the next set of lights. Follow the Westside road 7 kms to GHH&R.
  • From the South (highway 23): Follow highway 23 north till you come to the junction with the Trans Canada Highway. At the traffic lights go straight onto the Westside road. Follow the Westside road 7 kms to GHH&R.

Driving time to Revelstoke:

  • Kelowna 2 hours
  • Kamloops 2.5 hours
  • Calgary 4.5 hours
  • Vancouver 6 hours
  • Seattle 8 hours
  • New York 5 days or 72.3 hours non stop

Winter Highway Conditions

The mountain highways east and west from Revelstoke are susceptible to closures and poor winter conditions. We advise you to check the current road conditions at Drive BC before driving to Revelstoke. Or get an up-to-date road report at 1-800-550-4997. Please ensure your vehicle has proper winter tires or 4x4 drive.

What airport to use

Glacier house resort entrance

We are easily reached by the major airports in Calgary, Vancouver or Seattle. From these airports direct connecting flights to the regional Kelowna airport (YLW) are offered by Alaskan Airlines, Westjet or Air Canada. From the Kelowna airport it is appr. 2 hours to Revelstoke, over well maintained roads. Transfer services from Kelowna to Revelstoke are available. Altenatively you can rent vehicles at the Kelowna airport and drive up yourself.

Traveling by Bus

Greyhound Canada offers a variety of connections from all major cities in Canada and the US to Revelstoke. Plan your trip and visit the grey dog website.

mountainsWorking at Glacier House Hotel and Resort is great. You'll be working in a hands-on environment, where we all work together to provide exceptional services to our guests. Full-time and part-time positions are available. We provide good pay and additional benefits like outdoor adventures, staff parties and more.

Limited staff housing in the main lodge is available and we always assist our newcomers with finding suitable accommodations if you cannot stay on-site. Work hours are flexible and range from 7 am till 11/12 pm at night.

Glacier House Resort is a busy place in winter and summer and services many enthusiastic snowmobilers, skiers and international guests. Our guests are great, a lot of fun to work with and you'll do well with tips if you serve them well.

people around campfireThe town of Revelstoke is 7 kms away and the resort is served by a well maintained paved road. Revelstoke (pop. 9000) offers a broad spectrum of services, including several good schools, a full service hospital, good shops and plenty of recreational opportunities year round.
Jobs are easily combined with skiing at Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
Revelstoke is THE hot spot now for winter sports like snowmobiling, skiing, backcountry touring and cross country skiiing.
Less known is the sensational hiking in our National Parks, great canoeing, fishing and mt Biking opportunities that are here in summer.

Sous Chefs Our Chefs are responsible for all aspects of Glacier House's F&B. You're a hands on person who likes to cook, but also can steer other F&B staff, put an exciting menu together, control costs and do ordering. Working with a small staff you gotta be a team player who can keep it fun, handle kitchen stress and keep it organized. from $ 16 and up Must have min of 4 years experience with good references. Full time and part time positions.
Breakfast Cook This winter position is great for those who like to get out on the hill by lunchtime. We will train, but you must have prior cooking experience and be well organized in order to qualify for this position. $ 13-15/ hr Yes, you'll have to get up early, but can be snowmobiling or skiing by 11 am.
Room Attendent You are a hard worker, healthy and self motivated. You are responsible for all aspects of room and facility servicing. Work in a small but fun team. $ 11-13/hr Full time and part-time positions avaialble.
Bartender/ Server You are a friendly assertive person who knows how to serve our guests right. Must have prior serving experience and preferably a 'serve-it-right' or hospitality certificate. $ 11-13/hr Breakfast and evening shifts available, Full-time & part time positions.
Snowmobile Operation Guides Assistant guides start in the shop and tail gun for tours, learning all aspects of guiding, terrain and operations. Lead guides are experienced snowmobile guides with specific qualifications, who lead multi-day groups in backcountry riding situations. $ 11-13/hr
$14-25/hr
Prior snowmobile experience is a must. Download the requirements prior to applying. (63 pdf)
Plow/ Backhoe Operator Assist us in keeping the lots clean. Some HD equipment experience is preferred, but will train. Must be dependable and available on an on-call basis. Must be mechanically inclined. $13-16/h Part time position. Must be available during snowfalls.
